Our History
In 1927, the same year Charles Lindbergh made the first non-stop flight from New York to Paris, B.R. Reuscher and Adolf Schmidthammer began a new evolution of powder technology.
The beginning was basic, with the first press comprised of a railroad jack mounted between an I-beam on the ceiling and the floor, and heat applied to the die with a Bunsen burner.
St. Marys - Corporate Headquarters

Cherryville, NC Location
In 1984 Keystone opened a greenfield facility in Cherryville, NC focused on the self-lube bearing market. This location was selected due to the significant concentration of motor manufacturers in the south. After opening this location, Keystone was selling over 30 million bearings per month.
In the late 1990s motor manufacturers began moving their assembly process overseas and in response larger multi-level presses up to 200 ton were installed in Cherryville to produce small to medium sized structural components.
